SARAH MALONE
Sarah Malone also known online as (Sierra Malevich) has been photographing professionally since 2014. Known for having a warm and approachable demeanour, she works in medium format, film and DSLR - specialising in community projects.
Commissions go towards funding her community work, that also supports First Nations and LGBTQIA+ people. “My path has been very fast as a photographer but came from a long time in the creative and alternative world of Gadigal, my work is built on relationships, friendships and sensitivity developed over decades.”
Sarah also travels to Dunghutti and Brewarinna with AMS associated work and community health that remains very important to her. Recognised in industry awards such as The Moran Prize, Head On Awards, Iris Award and SEPA she is currently working with ACON on the ‘Trans and Gender’ diverse material; and supporting Blaq media projects in community. “It’s absolutely essential this material showcases our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander photographers with immediate lived experience.”
