Liese has always been drawn to and intrigued by the water, an interest that developed further as a diver. However, her passion for underwater photography blossomed when she had the opportunity to photograph the majestic humpback whales of Tonga. This is where her passion for the water and photography collided. “Underwater fine art photography lures the audience in and ignites the imagination through the elegance and movement of the human body under weightlessness.” In her fine art pieces Liese likes to create a space that doesn’t appear quite real; a perspective that is not of this world or in a dreamlike state. The air of mystery and connection to a different time and place provokes thoughts and conversations.
