Hilda has a keen interest in topics of identity and culture, the experience of migrating from South Africa to Australia in 2003 has also helped shape her work. She recently discovered the joys of surfing, something she is now exploring in her photography - depicting the connection that humans, predominantly women, have with the ocean.
